Job Description:
Region Land Surveyor Position
Incumbent is responsible to design and prepare right-of-way plans, ownership record, easements and deeds for conveyance of right-of-way to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) proposed projects. Completes title searches and abstracts to identify ownership of property, easements and right-of-way in the County Recorder’s Office and on the computer in the Region One Office. Prepares maps, deeds, relative calculation, etc. concerning surplus State properties. Maintains office record of file such as maps, documents, correspondence on all projects. Resolves questions, claims, disputes, or conflicts involving the general public concerning with highway properties and right-of-way line. Works with other government agencies, consulting engineers, surveying companies and property owners on matters relating to right-of-way issues. Prepares the necessary documents for opening a new access or closing an existing access. Mails and emails a copy of the existing right-of-way map for the public, surveying companies or to whoever requests the document. Helps Region One survey crew to perform topographical surveys with advanced survey instruments such as GPS and EDM, etc as needed. Operates Micro Station CADD and Word. Performs such other duties as may be directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Licensed Land Surveyor, will need to obtain Utah License in one year. See DOPL website
